Tsarukyan took to social media, writing, "This clown couldn't beat Gaethje on antibiotics." He went on to say, "Paddy got an undeserved title shot, pushed up the rankings artificially. Justin showed true grit, and unlike some, he'll step up and fight me. Respect."
The mention of antibiotics refers to a rumor about Gaethje's potential staph infection, which was a hot topic among fans leading up to the fight. Gaethje even shut down a reporter who asked about it just days before the match.
And this is the part most people miss... Tsarukyan's comments highlight the ongoing rivalry between the two fighters, which has been brewing for months. Tsarukyan continued his scathing remarks when speaking to Megan Olivi backstage, calling Pimblett a "trash can" and questioning his skills.
"Paddy is not a top fighter. Gaethje wouldn't have gone easy on me or Ilia [Topuria]. I'd have choked him out by the second round. He has no chin, and his cardio is lacking. Paddy's been knocked out multiple times, and Justin could've finished him easily."
